Finished this lure the other day, i have not done a scale effect on for a while so i thought i would give it a go. I have included a couple of pics of lures i made last year for comparison.

I have the bug again
Ive not been making that much lately but i have suddenly got the urge back. A doodle on a piece of paper got the old grey matter working and i have cut myself 9 blanks 3 x merranti 3 x beech 3 x cherry. I am going to play around with weighting, hook eye positioning etc until i get the lure how i want it. I also had another bash at the scale pattern technique as i have not done any like that for ages.

More skimmers for a friend over in Holland, i think i may try a new joint system soon, even though they swim brilliant and have a very slow 'breamy action' i just like tinkering. I should hopefully be getting my polyurethane resin and rtv mould making gear soon. Cannot wait to try a few resin lures as i do not have a workshop so it helps cutting down on sanding etc.

A few months ago a purchased a lure off ebay for about £2 i recognized it as a wolf creek rip off. Upon trying it i was really impressed with the action, a floating jerkbait that you could get down to about 3 feet. It also had a glide and a wobble. I had two pike in that short session and then it stared to fall apart, the finish was appalling, i could peel it off with my hand. It was a hollow plastic lure so i thought it would be good practice for when i start making some urethane blanks. Anyway it turned out nice and i added some silly anal fins because i was bored at the time.
Apart from that i have been trying carving and making a few bream swimbaits for a guy in Holland. Pics to follow soon. Oh and i am still poor at photography.
